Payments, Refunds, and fees

These policies address the issues of Payments, Refunds, and Fees for all contracted and digital products sold by C Maddux Write. Policies are also covered under contractual agreements and are not negotiable.

Please note that these policies are strictly enforced and do not make exceptions for any reason. This is to ensure that all clients receive an amazing experience.

Payments & Invoicing

All payments are processed through the secured online payment processor ThryvPay (or PayPal), enabling you to pay securely with any major credit cards or debit cards with major credit card logos. Payments will be invoiced for every pay period with a due date of 4 days from the receipt date. Any payments made late will affect the deadline for the project, and work will halt until payment is arranged. Payments not completed within 14 days of the receipt date will result in the termination of the contract.

Draft files for review will be accompanied with a watermark until payment for the overall project has been made. In the event payments stop, or the contract is terminated, the author will relinquish their rights to the plot (not your book), and it may be re-purposed as the ghostwriter sees fit. Installment Options - Pay Your Way

1. Pay-as-you-go (PAYG)

PAYG is exactly how it sounds. Pay for each individual milestone at a time and be billed for them upon their completion. This will mean you will receive an invoice for each billing cycle. 

2. Automatic Payments

Save your card on file and be charged automatically based on an agreed schedule. Work will not be distributed without watermarks until payment has been made. Your card information will not be released to me, and will be safely secured through Square. 

3. Recurring Payments

Instead of receiving an invoice per milestone, we can set up a subscription plan for recurring payments until your balance is paid off. The final product will be held until full payment has been made.

Each option is available at no additional cost, and are great options for those on a budget, and would like to wait until pay-day to get their bill. If these interest you, please ask about each plan at the time of booking your project.

Please note: The progress of the project may be interrupted if payment ceases or is denied for any reason. All payment must be paid in full by the agreed upon date to receive the completed final product.

Fees & Retainers

All payments and fees are due within 4 business days of the invoice receipt. Missed or late payments (including fees) will affect the deadline and could be subjected to a 5% late fee, accruing daily from the payment due date. If payments are not made within 14 days from the last receipt, the contract will be terminated, and rights to the plot will be relinquished to the ghostwriter.

Retainer Fees

Some projects will require a non-refundable retainer fee to withhold my service, and are due at the time of contract agreements. Lack of payments will prevent work from beginning, and may alter the final deadline. The amount of the fee is determined on a project-to-project basis, and is estimated according to cost per word count and/or hourly wages. Retainers will never exceed more than 50% of the overall service charge, and will be as little as 25% of your final total. A percentage of all paid retainer fees will be deducted from the final service total.

Rush Process

In the event you require your project sooner than the estimated deadline, rush process is available for an additional non-refundable fee of 25% of your overall service total.

I will never compromise the quality of your manuscript in order to provide you with a rushed service. It is my goal to ensure you receive the best quality book possible that will attract your readers and build your audience.

Rush processing must be determined at the start of every project to avoid disruption in estimated deadlines. Below highlights the minimum deadline estimation for each word count. Please note, estimations may vary per project based on demands. Deadlines do not reflect time for edits. All editing services will add to deadlines and vary per word count.

Refunds & Exchanges

Due to the nature of the products and services sold, I do not issue refunds, returns, or exchanges for any reason, including but not limited to:

In the event a double-charge is made for an already purchased product or service, I will happily process the refund for these duplicate charges.

Duplicate charges could happen for any possible reason, such as a system error, multiple clicks made, or a slow response from the payment processor. If you discover you’ve been double-charged, please contact me with your invoice number, name, and email address, and I will be happy to assist you!

Special Offers & Discounts

This policy applies to products and services purchased during a sales event including promotional discounts, gifts with purchase, e-gift cards, and other various promotional events.

Qualified Promotions

All promotions, sales events, discounts, and coupons are subjected to their individual terms and conditions, which may contradict and/or revoke terms stated here. In this case, terms of the individual sales event will be honored first.

Promotion Restrictions

Special offers and sales events are only valid during the Promotion Period, with restricted exceptions per event per client, and can be canceled at any time. Eligible products and services are subject to availability. For each eligible product and service, clients will be charged for all items on their invoice, including the Promotion Product; an estimated deposit based on the invoice total must be paid at the time of purchase for the sales event to apply through the promotion period and beyond. Offers are only available to members of the VIP Best-Selling Author’s Club; discounts will not apply to public entities outside the membership.

Promotions cannot be stacked with other offers and discounts, and are not eligible for a payment grace period. Late payments will be subjected to a daily accruing fee of 8% the total service, and will be subjected to termination after 14 days of non-payment, with the total late fee due as a kill-fee. Products and services reinstated after termination will not be eligible for the sales event, thereafter.

Promotion Returns & Exchanges

Promotions cannot be combined or stacked with any other offer. Discounted products and services are not eligible for returns, refunds, or exchanges.
